Land Day Activities in the Iqrit Al-Muhajarah

A group of young people from the Nazareth area, a national youth group, moved to the rhythm of the demands of the Palestinian Arab minority in the country, and is based on all the secular leftist intellectual constants, and is convinced of the necessity of laying the foundation stone for a broad youth movement that works

To advance our society to the highest levels of work, giving and volunteering in order to consolidate national and class awareness. A delegation from this group visited the displaced village of Iqrit, expressing their solidarity and support for the cause of the villagers by participating with the villagers in an intensive work day. This was on March 30, where the participants on this day cleaned the area surrounding the church and the cemetery. The participants also prepared the place to plant plants that prevent cows from approaching the village cemetery. The artist Reem Banna also presented an artistic segment committed to this occasion.

In a speech by Imad Yaqoub, head of the Iqrit People’s Committee, he saluted everyone who participated in this day, saying: “On the 35th anniversary of the immortal Land Day, true Palestinian unity was revealed, as the youth forces of Iqrit and Nasra joined forces in a wonderful volunteer work day, in which we accomplished some modest works that, if they indicate anything, indicate the authenticity of this people with all its spectrums and affiliations. We said that we are an integral part of this people and our cause has become a symbol of its struggle to regain its stolen rights, and what happened yesterday is nothing but evidence of that. A salute of respect and appreciation to everyone who contributed and participated in the success of this day, and we are always hoping to return to beloved Iqrit.”
